"Viva La Vida (Radio 1 Live Lounge Cover)" - Lady Gaga
first off, Lady Gaga is (FRIKKIN') talented. secondly, as from the witty modification to the words made by Lady Gaga on the song, these made me smile:
"be my Chris and i'll be your Gweneth"
and
"i know yves saint laurent, no he won't call my name".
hearing female artists with unique voices sing makes me happy.

ever broken a promise three promises?
there's something about bishan fire station that i really love. a kind of unusual serenity at night. when i'm on duty especially at night, it's good to know that everybody else is sleeping. all safe and sound.

when i'm working, when the guys are pissing me off, doing this shit and that shit, i'd think about how John and Soon Long would have handled the sitch. Both of them would murder them, fo shizz.
when the supervisor is giving me a bad time, i'd wonder how Cherlyn would have dealt with him. good ol' Cherlyn, the Phillip-Eno, would definitely know how to handle demanding bosses.
and paperwork. them irritating reports/administrative matters/nominations, Li Jin would have it settled in a jiffy.
i realized the yjc lads and lasses left quite an impression on me. i think the reason why this post is up is because i miss them. there are many instances when i'd think of various yj people (of which mentioning some of them here would create quite a stir), when i'm working, and thinking how they would have handled a situation that i'm facing. i know for a fact that they'd be able to handle situations better than i do.
it's just that when you find yourself talking like them, consistently using the words they would use, telling an inside joke to your men that only you and the yj peeps would know and your men thinking that it's fucken lame, carrying yourself like how they would, following their hand gestures when conversing and what not, that you instantly get reminded of them.
so when you're running around in station settling the morning taking over and you receive a call that one of your guys is in police custody, you'd think about how Charmaine would have handled it. when one of them comes late and you wanna screw him bad and he's standing right in front of you waiting for what's coming and you know what Char would say to this repeated late comer and how she would have handled this. she would have handled it perfectly. you would, wouldn't you, Char?

this may be a little late but i just caught Just Follow Law and i think it's a great movie that hits the spot regarding the public sector in singapore. to the people who send email as a form of black and white, cc-ing and bcc-ing your bosses as well as related managements as a means to protect your backside, this is the show for you. after months working for the higher management, i still don't get the black-and-white, strict compliance of the organizational laws and rules, pushing the work to others and the email-sending system. maybe i'm still a little naive but the tongue-in-cheek way jack neo puts the whole situation made me smile with this one.
never been a fan of local actors and actresses but fann wong was awesome.

"Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, baik juga di negeri sendiri."
do you know why we, orang-orang melayu, can never maximize our progress? it's because of adages/proverbs like this one. if we're having some form of success somewhere else, why don't we just continue what we're doing?
who's for the idea of abolishing peribahasa?

jason statham is kickass. i strongly recommend crank: high voltage.
afternote: i don't, however, recommend you watching it in the daytime when you're fasting.

good morning. the charity shield had my two favourite german and french footballers, michael ballack and patrice evra, clash against each other. but the this entry is all about the patrice himself. he is now officially my hero. so what are you waiting for? get me a united jersey with his name and number at the back for my birthday.
